At the time of this review， I read volumes 2 and 3 back-to-back with volume 4 already read。 After reading four volumes of this series （1， 4， 2， 3）， I have no idea what to think about this series。 I will continue to read it， because I want to see where all of this ends up。 That is all I am going to say for this volume， unless I get some inspiration。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun， or its English name， My Little Monster by Robico was published on January 3， 2009 by Kodansha in Tokyo， Japan。 The second volume has 4 chapters and 168 pages。 This volume in the series introduces all the characters in the manga。 While I was reading the book， there were a lot of misunderstanding within the book that made things more tense and interesting。 Overall， the read was quite the rollercoaster。This volume continues with a flashback at the end of the first volume wit Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun， or its English name， My Little Monster by Robico was published on January 3， 2009 by Kodansha in Tokyo， Japan。 The second volume has 4 chapters and 168 pages。 This volume in the series introduces all the characters in the manga。 While I was reading the book， there were a lot of misunderstanding within the book that made things more tense and interesting。 Overall， the read was quite the rollercoaster。This volume continues with a flashback at the end of the first volume with Haru， the main protagonist， not wanting to leave Shizuku， the main heroine。 In this volume， Haru gets into a fight and Shizuku saves him by intervening and leading him away to a safe spot to hide。 The next chapter， Haru， Shizuku， Haru’s older cousin， and a couple of their friends go on a trip to the mountains to go fishing。 After they come back the main antagonist who is also Haru’s brother， Yuzan， is introduced。 In the third chapter， Yuzan shows up at the school entrance while Haru and Shizuku are walking home together and Haru runs away， while Shizuku goes with Yuzan to hear about Haru’s past。 In the last chapter， we meet Shizuku’s love rival， Oshima， and she has no friends。 Haru and his friends devise a plan to help Oshima get more friends， but Shizuku is studying and says that Haru’s bothering her and they get into a fight。The key theme that constantly keeps reappearing in this manga is misunderstanding。 The first thing that happens in this volume is when Haru gets into a fight to protect another student， Oshima， from getting bullied。 She was pushed and fell to the ground after she accidentally hit another student in the head with a stick。 His first instinct after seeing the girl getting knocked down was to show violence towards the perpetrator。 When Haru beats the perpetrator until he is unable to stand up again， a crowd had formed around him and thought that he was beating up the perpetrator for fun， when in reality， they misunderstood and he was only trying to protect the victim。 In the second and third chapters when Yuzan shows up， Haru thinks that Yuzan is trying to convince him to go back home， when in reality， Haru misunderstood and Yuzan is going against their father’s words and is trying to get Haru to stay at the school。 In the final and fourth chapter of this volume， Shizuku normally would not be bothered by Haru’s nonsense in the library but she was annoyed this time， but in reality， Shizuku misunderstood her own feelings and she was jealous that Haru was doing all of that for Oshima instead of hanging out with her， she eventually tells him why she was bothered by that and he misunderstands and says she needs to go see the nurse。 Oshima tries to clear up the misunderstanding but gets too embarrassed to finish resulting her in asking Haru “Do you have any balls？”I like how the author wrote the book with the characters misunderstanding each other and themselves as the key theme。 My favourite part of this volume would be the last chapter where Shizuku realizes her feelings for Haru and indirectly tells him about them， but Haru misunderstands。 My least favourite part of this volume would be the part where they go to the mountains to go fishing， that chapter felt like it was only made for fanservice。 In my opinion， Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun is a fun romance-comedy manga to read。 I definitely recommend others to read it。 。。。more

so testing my memory from when I watched the anime— I don’t remember Ooshima！ I feel like I would remember such a cutie but I guess not 😭 also I remember Shizuko being a lot more colder and :| when it came to Haru but she’s actually a lot more 🥰😳🥰😳 when it comes to him， which is v shojo lol but I’m excited to relearn the rest of this story :D

Haru and Mizutani continue their awkward and tumultuous romance in this second volume and the quirkiness and humour abound as they attempt to understand each other and themselves。 It’s cute in a non-cringy way and I continue to enjoy both of them as characters and the growing group of friends around them add interesting aspects， as well as the added mystery of Haru’s brother and a past he refuses to share。 I will definitely continue to the read the series！
